With the widespread flooding continues from recent hurricane Matthew in Robeson County and more in North Carolina. In many of the surrounding small towns, people across the Southeast region of North Carolina are dealing with immediate and urgent challenges. The area was already dealing with record rainfall this autum. Hurricane Matthew has created record breaking floods ravaging the homes and business in the area. These flood situations result in homelessness, loss of critical vehicles, complete loss of belongings, inability to get medications and food – very critical challenges – and recovery can take weeks and months. Join VTG as we spend a week to begin the recovery process for so many people in this area. We will be working with local agencies to provide essential clean-up from the flood waters. Anticipated Cost - $670 exclusive of travel to the area.
This is a short notice trip but the help is needed as colder weather sets in. Once we meet VTG will be responsible for all transportation, housing, food, work sites and evening reflection. We will meet Sunday afternoon through Friday morning. For a packing list click here.
